Who doesn’t love getting a new outfit let alone a full matching suit set?
As you all know, I’ve been mixing and matching my separates for years to make it look like a coordinated suit. It has always been part of my ‘make it work‘ mentality like I shared in this post.
Growing up, my parents did everything in their power to make sure that the kids had the right education, that we were part of the community, and provided us with all that they had. It was a treat when we got special surprises like new clothes or went on an adventure together outside of birthdays and holidays. I am thankful because I truly believe that this mentality from my parents made me and my siblings really appreciate what we have and how we got to where we are today.
Even going through college, I made the best of every outfit I owned, literally wearing each piece into the ground until there were holes. Today, I make sure that I am not purchasing items just to keep up with the trends. I want items that will be worn over and over again. Items that are well loved and taken care of. I hope that my habits inspire you to consider doing the same.
Needless to say, purchasing a powder pink suit for the eventual return to the office got me really excited and was kind of a big deal. **insert heart flutter here** Even though my office is much more casual than business – all I could picture was me walking the jetway at the airport in this suit to get to my meetings!
I also went completely out of the box from my typical jewel tones. Not only does this check the box for a beautiful color and affordable work suit, but I can use the jacket and pants as separate items throughout the season too! Again, versatility is everything when looking at making a purchase. Tip: If you can only imagine wearing it one way, reconsider whether you really need to make the purchase.
To let the pink color really pop, I opted to pair it along with a light cream sweater that has a ruffle detail around the neck and wrists. Since the pants sit more high-waisted than the traditional trouser, I wanted to add a shoe with a different shade of pink but still in the same family of colors to tie it all in. This blush pink/nude suede heel did just the trick!
Lastly, accessories! I added a layered necklace to accent the deep V cut of the double breasted blazer, some stacked rings, and that amazing soft clutch bag I found recently. I think that the black clutch does a great job is pulling out the tortoise buttons on the blazer. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and can’t wait to have a reason to ‘buss it’ out for work!
Can’t wait to style this multiple ways for you – coming soon! ❤
