My 5 Must Have Perfumes For Women

Perfume_1

Perfume is such a great luxury item to have that will pay itself off over time and its also leaves such a powerful signature on your memories. If you think about it, I bet you that certain perfumes and colognes remind you of past memories, moments, and particular people. It’s so remarkable how the human brain can remember our olfactory senses from childhood to adulthood.

For me, I was always drawn to floral scents that were clean and crisp. I grew up loving many deodorant scents that my mom always ordered from Avon (remember them?) like sweet pea. To this day, that smell still brings me back to my teenage years where I remember sitting on the floor with my mom, flipping through an Avon booklet and folding the page for that ONE thing my mom said I could have. We didn’t have much so these purchasing moments were so special to me.

Now as an adult, I try to pick out that one special scent each year that makes me smile. A scent that makes me feel confident, powerful, feminine and beautiful all in one. So as the years have progressed, I have hung onto the ones I wear the most and think that they fit best in the scenarios below.

For the Day-toDay //

Burberry Brit Sheer – I am down to the last drop on this one and luckily we haven’t been able to go anywhere to use it up yet. I got this perfume as a gift and I was so scared to use it at first just because of the brand name alone. It was my first luxe brand perfume so it sat on the shelf on display for a bit. Once I used it though – that was a different story. This is a girl boss perfume that has notes of peony and white musk. It is such a fresh and joyful scent!

For Date Night Out //

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre – I know that everyone is all up on the classic Chanel No. 5 but this one is such a stunning smell. It’s soft and floral with a hint of teakwood. I bought mine while I was traveling in Canada but it’s also available exclusively at Sephora. I have had it for a few years and am still not halfway through the bottle.

Valentino Voce Viva – This is new to my perfume collection. It just launched recently and I was able to get my hands on the travel size bottle! It has this warm citrus/orange smell to it that just works. It took a few sprays for me to appreciate it – but it is a scent that is great for a night out with the girlfriends or your partner! You can even slip the travel size one in your purse if needed!

For the Office //

Jo Malone Peony & Suede – Hail to the almighty Jo Malone and their fabulous scents. I have tried all of them and this is hands down not only my favorite of them all, but currently the one that I wear for any and every occasion! This has obviously notes of peony and that suede works so well with it – BUT it also has notes of red apple. It makes sense because it has a bit of a bite to it! I currently have the 1oz bottle – but when it runs our, you best believe I am splurging on the larger 3.4oz bottle!

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet – If you are looking for a floral scent that has that hint of white musk to it – this is the one. I love to use this one if I am headed to a meeting or event that involves interacting with people throughout the day. It gives a level of confidence with subtle elegance and definitely is perfect for the springtime or summer days. I have the 3.4 Fl oz and it has lasted be a few years, but they also make it in a smaller 1.7oz or a1 oz bottle too! If you want it for travel, I highly recommend the roller version so its much easier to pack.

There is one perfume that I’ve got my eyes on for this year. My sister swears by it and one Christmas she got three bottles as gifts from family members!! It’s the Viktor&Rolf Flower Bomb perfume. The bottle is iconic with its geometric shape and I am curious about the notes of Jasmine and Patchouli coming together in a scent.
