A Fresh Take on Peplum For Spring

Bring on all the delicate tops and flowy sleeves!

I haven’t packed away any winter gear yet because I live in New England and Spring without snow is never a sure thing around here. BUT, I am starting to sneak all the warm weather clothing up from the basement so I can start to assess what I have for the season (plus do a little shopping too)!

As you have seen lately, Loft has been my go-to spot for finding great new spring additions to the closet and this flutter sleeve peplum top is a must have for the season. The embroidery around the shirt is so chic and the fabric is a great quality – it also comes in a dark green ivy color. To keep the look airy for spring, I paired it with a light washed distressed denim jean. I like how the peplum has volume up top, while the jean tapers to a skinny leg cut to balance out the overall outfit. And nothing screams spring more than a great straw bag that feels like you are headed to a picnic somewhere in the park. I got mine from a local boutique but this circle straw bag is a great option that can double as a beach bag too!

I accessorized the look with a bold snakeskin mule that pulls the black out from the top and tied a scarf around the bag to give it one more pop of black to complement. I went with a black stud style earring instead of dangly ones to let the sleeves pop and of course a pair of my favorite sunnies!

If it gets a little chilly out, you can throw on a short cardigan or denim jacket to keep the look fun. Either way, you will be stylish for any event this spring.
