LOFT Workwear Try-Ons

Nothing like a refresh to the wardrobe for a changing season. Recently on my day off from work, I decided that it was time do some retail therapy. One of my favorite places to shop is the Loft because they always have some beautiful new pieces each season and they are affordable when you land a really great sale!

So I treated myself to some new items for the Spring Season and threw together some recommendations for you below!

Cropped Knit Cardigan (xs)  //  Cheetah Print Skirt (s) //  Pull On Midi Skirt (xs)

Knit Cardigan – I saw this item online prior to heading into the store and I wasn’t as inspired, but it looks much better in person. The knit comes across like a chunky knit material so it modern and chic while the cropped length actually works out really well. Unlike many other cardigans, it hits at the waistline so it’s perfect for wearing with a skirt without throwing off the outfit. It has three mid-sized buttons and I wore it out with the leopard skirt, but tucked it in with the pencil skirt to give it a more refined look.

Cheetah Print Skirt – I tend to shy away from animal print but I really liked the look and feel of this skirt. First of all, its an elastic ruched waistline so it already has a non-traditional look but the animal print is actually on sheer fabric overlay but has an under lining. When you walk around in it, the skirt flows so freely and is really light. I would say that the waistline runs a little big and is likely to stretch out over time so size down if you can. I am wearing a Small here but would’ve preferred the fit of an X-Small.

Pull On Midi Skirt – Why I left this behind in the store – I don’t know. From the moment I put the skirt on, I didn’t want to take it off. ( and that is saying a lot for a pencil skirt) The fabric is so luxe and yet sooooo soft. It hugs without squeezing and the length makes it appealing for the office too. I convinced myself that I had too many black skirts but now I wish I bought it! It’s a pieces that you can style with a blouse or top to look professional, but with the knit fabric, you can also pair it with a sweatshirt and sneakers too for a casual day. Ugh!! Kicking myself. It fits true to size so I’m wearing an XS here.

Billow Sleeve Blouse (xs) //  Smocked Neck Polka Dot Blouse (xs)  // Pull On Midi Skirt (xs)

Billow Sleeve Blouse – If you are looking for a stunning print blouse – this is one you should consider. It looks like there is a lot going on when you see it on the rack – but when you put it on, it really comes to life. It has this two tone fabric pattern to it that accents the shoulder areas and the print are these delicate little diamonds that give it so much texture. I love the depth that it gives the outfit without you having to do a thing! (runs TTS)

Smocked Neck Blouse – Give me all the polka dots! I was sold on this top the moment I saw it from the dots, to the victorian style neckline to the light fabric – it just screamed girl boss to me. I styled it here with a midi skirt but I can easily throw this under a blazer with pants for a meeting or with a pair of jeans and black heels for a night out. This will be worn over and over again! Can’t wait to restyle it. (runs TTS) ❤

Smocked Neck Blouse (xs) //  Navy Kick Crop Pant (2) // Leopard Print Ruffle Blouse (s)

Navy Kick Crop Pant – Listen, I usually hate cropped pants because I feel like they are never cut for the length of my legs. Rather than looking trendy and cute, it always looks like I shrunk them in the dryer – but this! This pair of cropped pants are a pair that I could get used to. I like the kick out at the bottom of the pant that gives a a touch of flair and the seaming down the front works wonders too! The pants are very flattering and zip on the side – up your hip. I can see myself packing this for a weekend away somewhere on the cape. Love it. (wearing a 2)

Leopard Print Ruffle Blouse – Out of all the items I tried on – this was the one in the pile that I was looking forward to the most. I know animal print will always be around but I love that Loft decided to put it against a shade of periwinkle blue and then add the ruffles on the sleeve for some volume and texture. It’s dramatic without being over the top and a welcomed change to my closet. I prefer this type of shirt to be a little more billowy than tight so I opted for a size Small instead of my usual X-small.

Here are a few other items that I picked up as well! I think I did pretty good – what do you think?

Flutter Sleeve Peplum  //  Relaxed V-Neck Cardigan (Navy)  //  Garden Split Neck Shell

I also pulled together a really fun reel of all these looks on my instagram page – you can watch it here! Hope you find something that works for you this season!
