Let’s be real – the sound of a turtleneck shirt is not the most exciting thing in the world but you won’t regret getting this basic.
I grew up with lots of turtleneck shirts because back in the days, my public school had school uniforms and turtlenecks were all the rage! Maybe that is why I moved away from it for the majority of my life? Either way, there are a few basics that started to creep its way back into my wardrobe and a white turtleneck has been surprisingly useful.
This cold weather essential is perfect for layering underneath your warm coats, styled with a pair of jeans and ankle boots, or even with a chic blazer for the office. The versatility is endless and since this neutral piece can go with ANY color, you are sure to wear this on repeat more than you think. I have pulled together four looks using a white ribbed turtleneck sweater as a place to start. (All links are at the end.)
OUTFIT #1 // Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater, Black Denim Jeans, Knee High Boots
OUTFIT #2 // Plaid Blazer, Black Dress Pants, Ribbed Sweater, Black Pumps
OUTFIT #3 // Ribbed Sweater, Pencil Skirt, Gray Pumps
OUTFIT #4 // Ribbed Sweater, Black Denim Jeans, Knee-high Boots, Vegan Leather Jacket
THE LOOK:
TOP // Loft Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater
JACKETS // Forever21 Blazer, Express Vegan Leather Jacket
BOTTOMS // William Rast Skinny Jeans, Express Columnist Pant, Ann Taylor Pencil Skirt (similar)
SHOES // Nine West Black Pumps, Gray Pumps, Sam Edelman Knee High Boots
Oh how I hated them as a kid! Thankfully I like them now 🙂
