All Bundled Up!

Happy International Women’s month! There are birds chirping outside my window and the first few days of the week were warming up with some sunshine and spring weather. I hear that we are supposed to have a Nor’Easter hitting the coastal area this weekend starting this morning, but I’m hoping the forecast is inaccurate. (crossing my fingers for some rain instead…) I am p r e t t y sure that I am not interested in shoveling snow and scraping ice.

I thought about packing away my sweaters this past weekend, but I am glad I didn’t make that move. I wouldn’t have been able to bundle up in in one of my most comfortable sweaters. This marigold piece is the same style of blouson sweater from my Power Palette posting at the beginning of the year. I learned that when you love something, you should purchase multiples of that garment in additional colors and prints because when you don’t, you regret not having listened to your gut instinct. I wish this came in more colors but the black and marigold will do!

I paired the sweater with a leather pencil skirt for a little bit of ‘yaaaasssss‘ appeal and the blue suede pumps for a pop of color to the black and yellow palette. I wasn’t sure how it would come together- but it worked out! Woohooo.

Adding gold statement pieces for a little sparkle is always a great idea but make sure not to take away from the overall outfit. In addition, dressing yourself all the way to the end with your outerwear and a scarf is a great way to bring the entire look together. A cape coat works as the perfect final layer for that professional look. It is a great statement piece that also serves to keep you warm in this ever-changing New England weather. It will help to boost your confidence when you feel as refined and put together from head to toe. Happy Friday everyone!
