It is officially springtime, whether you want to believe it or not due to all the snow that is still on the ground. 🙂 As the flowers bloom, the days become brighter and the world fills with so much more color. I want to make sure that I get one last wear out of some of my favorite winter pieces before they head into storage.
One of those pieces are my blazers and I needed some change in personal perspective. I always thought that the blazer was more of a client meeting formality. Since I moved over to the marketing side of the business, I haven’t needed them as often unless a customer is in town. I decided to pull my emerald green blazer out of the closet and adapt it for a more casual look for daily wear. I am loving the contrast between the boldness of the stripes on the top and the more discreet stripes that are on the inside cuff on the blazer. (tip :: just by rolling up the sleeve on the blazer, it immediately gave a casual yet polished look for the office.)
The spiked HM necklace gave me a bit of edge and flair that brings some personality to the outfit but also pulls all the accessories together. Don’t be afraid to let some of your personality shine in your style!
This is just one way to restyle something that you already own. You can also adapt this for a a more polished look just by changing out the bottom half of the outfit. Tuck the striped shirt into a pencil skirt of your choice and swap out the boots for a cute pair of heels, and Voila! you are ready for any meeting. If you want to take it one more notch down in casual levels, swap out for jeans and some flats. You can mix and match as much as you would like to make this outfit fit into your day to day.
