New York City is full of amazing sights to see and things to do – so what to do when you are on limited time and want to see something iconic? I highly recommend heading down to the South Street Pier and admiring the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. You know…the bridge that Miranda walked halfway across in order to fight for her marriage with Steve…yes – THAT bridge! (gasp.)
The pier itself is undergoing some renovations but don’t be deterred. You will not be disappointed. As you walk down the pier – pass the large beautiful ship – the landscape of the city will come into view. Look left. There it is and it is absolutely breathtaking….the Brooklyn Bridge in all its glory. If you want another view, walk over to the ramp that jets out above the Harbor Cruise offices and head on up! (no tickets necessary) The roof deck has plenty of seating, a green area to lay out on (when its not winter) and steps to hang out on. With a view like that, I didn’t even notice the chill in the air. I am definitely coming back and lounging here when the weather starts to warm up!
Also, take some time to wander the Seaport District Area right across the street. The cobblestone streets are lined with cute boutiques, retail stores, coffee shops, restaurants and a kitschy flower shop. (Emily Thompson Flowers) The area is also under renovations but that only means NEW and EXCITING things are coming!
*Fact: I purchased this beautiful faux fur infinity scarf at the Abercrombie & Fitch Store there and put it on right then and there. It was a steal!
I am so glad that I was able to check off another New York “must-do” off my list. Next time, I need to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. (on a less windy day of course)
Thanks for stopping by and reading. I hope that you have a great day!
