Hello 9 to 5ers! One of my favorite details to find on clothing is buttons. Buttons come in all shapes and sizes, colors and finishes that when added to certain pieces – can completely alter the look and feel.
I picked up this gray dolman sleeve sweater a while back at my local TJmaxx and have always worn it with just pants. It was a simple solution to my everyday officewear without much planning or thinking. This time around, I wanted to think outside the limits I set for myself and paired it with a high waist pencil skirt in black. The silver buttons give off the perfect amount of shine without adding too many other accessories.
To adjust to the chilly days, I added black tights and a lace up bootie. The small detail on the laces and sweater allow me to forego wearing a necklace. I opted for a high waist belt instead to accentuate the waist and draw attention away from the swing of the dolman sleeve.
The finishing touch was a beautiful mesh Skagen watch and a wrapped leaf ring. I hope this inspires you to restyle current items you have in your closet – you might be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks so much for reading. Have a great Superbowl weekend!

@theappreciationfactor I have been so picky about finding the right booties so don’t stop trying. They are all cut differently depending on the brand – Nine West just happens to work for me. Yes – try on some button detailed garments! They are so fun and it can be the right amount of sass without too many additional accessories. Please share if you find any – would love to see! Thanks so much for stopping by!
This looks so effortless, and I’m somewhat envious. I cannot do the bootie thing. They just look TERRIBLE on me, believe me I’ve tried. I recently passed on a sweater w/ buttons, perhaps I was a bit hasty in that decision…. You’re making me rethink that.
