The Perfect Lightweight Top For Spring

Jackie Portraits - South End

Don’t mind me while I dance in the middle of the street!

Even though Spring is only ONE day away, it isn’t immediately sunshine, rainbows and flowers overnight. We all know there is a little transition period where light sweaters are still needed for the rain, changing temperatures and potential surprise snow storms that frequent New England in April.

If you’re looking for a great transition piece that takes you through the spring season – this lightweight wrap top is it! I used to own something similar a very long time ago, so I am glad to have found a newer version if it. Trust me, you will use this more than you think.

What I love about this soft wrap top is how chic it looks with the wrap effect across the body. The wrap is also fixed to the seam instead of one that you have to tie on your own – thats a plus for me. It also has a stretch to it that  adds to the comfort level of the top for all day wear. You can style this wrap top on its own or as a layer under a cardigan or blazer. The deep V neck really gives you options for an under layer too – maybe a lace camisole for depth and texture to your outfit.

I styled the wrap top here with a fun pleated skirt that has loads of color. It allows the wrap top to shine as a delicate and feminine piece but still contrasts really well too. I wanted the skirt to be at my waistline to meet the wrap and continue the sight line from the wrap to the skirt.

This top is completely work appropriate and great for pairing with jeans and heels for a more casual outfit as well. I’m wearing an XS and the top comes in white, black, brown and pink!

Also I found the perfect dupe for the Bottega Veneta Pouch bag that I’ve been seeing everywhere. (scroll to see a closeup!) This soft clutch has a similar shape, lots of space inside for carrying all your things and is under $30!!  It also comes with a strap that you can clip on for use as a crossbody and is available in black and in brown. I might go back for that taupe brown color – its gorgeous!

What would you pair this wrap top with?
