That’s a Wrap (Dress)!

What an interesting time to get married in 2020. Kudos to all the brides and grooms out there navigating options for their big day.

Plans for weddings have changed this year and I am noticing more elopements in the mix. For those that have planned their big day, I am super impressed by the precautions they have built in to make sure all the guests feel safe. The mister and I have been to two socially-distanced weddings this summer. Honestly, we had our hesitations due to the Rona but when these couples shared what they were doing to maintain protocol – we felt confident in attending. They over-communicated, had masks and sanitizer, plexi dividers, outdoor venues and more. Each layer orchestrated to fit beautifully into their day. Cheers to all the happy newlyweds out there!

What I appreciate about weddings (especially this year) is the chance to get all dressed up even with a cute face mask in tow! I found this Yumi Kim floral wrap dress at TJMaxx before the shutdown and it surely came in handy. I love the two different shoulder styles of the dress and how chic the draping is across the chest. Yumi Kim’s signature floral style is clearly showcased here in the fabric and I actually like the way it wraps around my waist. I typically struggle in the chest area with this style if there is too much fabric, but this dress was just right.

After loving the first dress so much, I went to the Yumi Kim website to find another one that I could use for future events. I definitely had a little bit of sticker shock since I got such a great deal on the first dress, however, there is a fantastic SALE going on right now.

I love the collared v-neck cut and how it brings a feminine touch to a structured style. The midi length works really well and the navy blue just pops – doesn’t this remind you of a classic Audrey Hepburn look?! I guess I’m coming around on the wrap dress nowadays as an option for future weddings.
