A Twisted Tee for Summertime

Summertime is here and I hope that it stays a while.

The 4th of July weekend definitely felt different this year – dare I say, it barely felt like a holiday at all. With social distancing still in effect, we found ourselves hanging out at home, working on projects around the house, grilling out and having dinner on the patio, and watching Hamilton The Musical as a pseudo date night! (which, by the way was a masterpiece!!) Though we miss our friends and traditional BBQ gatherings, there were plenty of fireworks going on around us to somewhat feel like the 4th.

One of the things that have emerged from constantly being home is learning more about myself and my evolved sense of style. I still have clothing from college so this is the perfect time to figure out who I am at this stage of life.  I have clothes that are deemed ‘too corporate’ or the extreme opposite for being ‘too casual’ and nothing in between for everyday wear. Lately, I find myself craving more of THIS. (see below)

I love this sandwashed twisted top and the non-traditional take on a tee shirt. The seam detail down the center and the light ruching at the hip is great for an everyday look. It’s styled here with a pair of distressed skinny jeans and my favorite ‘wear until they fall apart’ sneakers. Trust me they have been washed so many times….its inevitable. A simple gold hexagon necklace finished the look and Voila! A fun, grown-up casual look for any day.

I am looking forward to hitting that reset button and finding my maturing style. P.S. I think that they might have sold out of the tee – but I’m linking it here just in case they bring more back in stock!
