What are you going to do with that wedding dress that you walked down the aisle in? Well I have an idea for you…

Some people donate the dress, cut the dress, preserve the dress, or trash the dress. These are all wonderful ideas, but I knew that I wasn’t ready for any of that. My dress needed a second life and heading into year five, I was finally ready. I have been holding onto this idea for over a year and I am so lucky to have my dearest friend Kelsey bring it to life.

My wedding day is a day that I will always remember and the dress was the biggest portion of my worries. So much time, energy, and emotion was put into the search for the one dress that I felt resembled me at this stage in life. The one dress that I would feel the most beautiful in and never want to take off. The one dress that I wanted him to see me in as I take every single step down the aisle to meet him on the other side. I danced, I laughed and I cried (tears of joy) in this dress surrounded by my family and friends.

So, at the end of the day, I refused to box my dress up and put it into the attic in hopes that one day my future children may want to wear it or use it in a special way. I wanted to use it in a special way, so here it is, that beautiful satin beaded gown as part of everyday life.

This is the life my dress would live if I could replace my daily outfits and go about my business. (Because who doesn’t want to wear their dress every day?!) Sometimes life isn’t always as glamorous, but this dress sure makes it look like it is.

The first of a series that we would like to call:
After the Altar ❤
