Chambray + Ruffle Shorts

Well, well, well…. if it isn’t Monday again. The weeks of summer are flying by and there is still so much to see and do.

We found out that Moulin Rouge The Musical was having a short residency in Boston at the Emerson Colonial Theatre and we jumped on getting some tickets! First off, when I was attending Emerson, the theatre was under renovation and I never got the chance to see it or perform there. Secondly, the Moulin rouge movie was amazing and the thought that someone would be able to recreate that high energy Paris nightclub environment was intriguing.

The show was everything I imagined it to be on a stage. It had a mix of songs from the movie mixed in with the likes of current songs that you would recognize easily. (I won’t spoil it with which ones!)  The entire cast is a group of showstoppers!! If you are still considering whether or not to purchase tickets, I highly recommend that you buy them. You won’t be disappointed. The audience was out of their seats constantly and I was cheering at the top of my lungs!

Enough gushing about the Moulin Rouge… I wore this outfit on my vacation and the ruffle shorts make me want to do the can-can! I love the floral printing on the shorts paired with the light chambray strap camisole. It was light and airy for the days filled with sunshine and perfect for a dinner date on-board the cruise.

I’m in a size extra small for the top since it is more open around the arm pit area but sizing down helps to ‘tighten’ the straps a bit so I feel more secure in it. The shorts are true to size. The material is light and airy while the ruffle hem flares away from the body. The print is fun but slightly understated so you can mix and match with multiple colors and fabrics.

Both pieces will definitely be on repeat for the rest of the season!! ❤
