As I stated in a previous blog post – I spent the Fourth of July holiday weekend in Niagara Falls for a friend’s wedding. What I didn’t tell you was that my mister and I decided to turn it into a road trip!
Our first stop was in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Saratoga Springs was the perfect halfway point between Boston and Canada. It is a small town known for its horse races, beautiful national park, the National Museum of Dance (love since I was a dancer in my past life) music cafes such as Caffe Lena, cute boutique shops and many other attractions.
While visiting the National Park, we unknowingly wandered across Kid Rock’s sound check without event knowing it! How crazy is that? (Unfortunately…we didn’t get to meet him..)
When I travel, I know that I want to see everything and anything so I tend to heir on the casual side of dress, especially in comfortable shoes. It is great for wandering around aimlessly and exploring new places.
The bejeweled ballet slipper was actually in the concert area where the sound check was taking place and I had to have a picture with it. I asked the guard to sneak in for a quick shot and he supervised the entire escapade. lol I’m a lucky gal!
We also stayed at the cutest little Inn on Saratoga Lake – The Nest. It was about 10 minutes outside of downtown Saratoga and worth every single penny. The views were beautiful, the staff was extremely nice and the rooms were perfect. If you are ever in the area – this is a must stay! We will definitely be back.
