How to Style a Short Cardigan

I’d hate to start thinking about the upcoming fall season (even though its my favorite season) while we are all trying to enjoy the final days of summer, but here we are….

It’s no secret that I love a good cardigan. They are a great layering piece that both look good and are functional – making it incredibly versatile. I got this cardigan from the Banana Republic and it has been the perfect layer for many of our summer adventures. I have used it more often than I thought I would throughout the summer so far. Even though it looks heavy and thick, it is extremely light and seriously cute. The sweater fits true to size, but I sized up to a small so that I can put it on over some thicker fabric layers for the upcoming fall/winter season.

It’s exactly the type of cardigan for layering over a camisole top, tank, blouse, or even a dress. For this look, I styled the chunky cardigan more casually with a teal camisole and high waisted ripped denim jeans and neutral sandals for an easy-going daytime look. If it’s too warm out, tie the cardigan around your waist for easy transport and style it later.

So if you’re ready to start thinking about fall and shopping for the season to come – add a classic cardigan to the list!
