Anyone else spend last summer in a blow up pool in their yard? Or was that just me?
It’s never too soon to start thinking about beaches, ocean fronts, boat rides and swimming pools. I am so ready to be floating around with a drink in hand somewhere that is not my backyard – so lets start swimsuit shopping to send good summer vibes into the universe.
Back pre-covid, our family went on a cruise for my borthers wedding. In Cozumel, we took a family excursion to Chankanaab National Park. There was plenty for the kids to do at the park with the pools and beaches surrounding the area. A few of the adults went scuba diving while a few of us went off to a guacamole and tequila tasting! (yes, you read that right!) I did have the best margarita and tequila I’ve ever had. Lunch was included with the excursion package in the form of a buffet, as well as the drinks by the pool for the adults. What a great way to hang out with family in Cozumel for the limited time that we had there.
I actually spent most of my day living in this swimsuit! I jumped on the one piece bathing suit train that year and never looked back. This black keyhole bathing suit is modern and chic with a hint of sass with the cutouts and back design. I typically struggle with finding a one piece because my torso can look extremely long in some, but this particular suit made me feel like a million bucks. The fabric is soft, comfortable and dries quickly too. It was a great starter and confidence booster. I linked it below for you – a must have and super affordable for a Nordstrom purchase!
One-Piece Suits //
One Piece Swimsuits have full made a comeback and are no longer just your parent’s style of suit. The modern designs, cuts, colors and fabrics really bring the suits to another level. These are fantastic options if you are looking for full coverage with a little feminine flair. The one I am wearing above was my first one piece in ages from Becca Swim and I love the cutout in the center! I bring it will me everywhere and it never fails to make me feel comfortable and dare I say sexy as the same time. // Similar suit here
So if you’re looking for a modern one piece suit with a unique cut or design – here are a few of my picks:
From Left to Right:
Colorblock Square Neck // Lacey Wanderlust – Navy // Asymmetrical Tie Back – Yellow
Braided Strap Halter // Ribbed Tie Front Cut Out – Black // The Sidestroke – Seaweed

Two-Piece Suits //
Whether you prefer a bikini or a tankini, the two piece also has lots of options! From multiple colors to ruffle textures and high waist bottoms, the options to mix and match to your comfort level is available in this style of suit. I really like the suits that have a mesh underlay on a high-waist bottoms because it provides coverage at the waistline with a little ‘peek-a-boo’ effect to it. Again, a chic and feminine look without have to bare all.
From Left to Right:
(1) Mesh One Shoulder Bralette + High Waist Bottoms // Pink Off the Shoulder Bandeau top + Similar Matching Bottoms // Marina Bikini Top + Mid Rise Bottom
(2) Paisley Bandeau Bikini Top + High Waist Bikini Bottom // Stripe Twist Front Top + Classic Bikini Bottom // Summer Stripes Top + Bikini Bottom

Cover-Ups //
A cover-up is just what you need if you plan to be poolside at anytime. The ability to throw on and go is ideal if you need to get more snacks or drinks from the pool bar or if you need something to throw on between the pool and your chair. Sometimes I flip flop between a light and airy dress that I can throw on overhead or even the traditional tunic style ones that work like a min-robe. Either way, be comfortable with what you have – there is no wrong way to wear a cover-up. Here are a few great options that could work for your summer:
From left to right:
The Shirtdress // The Oasis Dress // The Wrap Maxi Dress // The T-Shirt Tunic
So many options – but I hope that you find something here that you like and makes you feel great this summer. Which swimsuit is your favorite?
