Some of my friends tease me that I still own a pair of high top FILA sneakers from my high school days. They’re classic throwbacks! lol I love that the throwback/vintage styles are starting to resurface in brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Reebok and FILA. Those are brands that were synonymous with my childhood and as they roll back into trends, I get the chance to restyle from a different lens of my life.
Incorporating this FILA sweater into my wardrobe was a fun challenge. As much as I wanted to wear it more casual, finding a way to make it look more dressed up definitely made me think about it differently. Pairing it with a button up that had a black piping detail was just the solution. I love the slight pop is brings to the look while still keeping that urban chic feel.
I believe it was Zac Posen who gave us the “Three Outfit Rule” when deciding whether a garment will be a good purchase as we try to contain buying more stuff – If you can wear the piece during the weekday, to work and to brunch – buy it! Well then, check to all three!!
What do you think of the look?
