5 Ways to Unplug, Reset, and Recharge

DSC_0722

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes. Including yourself. I’m not sure if its just me, but there are moments in life when all my worlds seem to collide and it can be a bit overwhelming. I have found that if I just unplug from technology for a bit to focus, it helps me to reset and get my thoughts in order.

I know….I know….the thought of not checking social media everyday or having your phone attached to your hip can drive fear into the heart of many as well as myself. As a blogger, the ability to be ‘online’ consistently is what drives it’s success and the statistics for the growth. It is a difficult decision to drop the blog like a bad habit for a few weeks and watch those numbers decline as the rest of the world rolls on without a post from you.

What the time has allowed me to do is think of new content and new ways I can make improvements to continue to learn and help others. If you want to unplug and check out for a bit, but aren’t sure where to start – here are a few ideas:

  1. Get Active – With summer rolling in, you can sit outside with a glass of wine or go for a walk. Having Kima is a great excuse to go for a walk around the block or to our local  neighborhood park. You can also spend this time at the gym, gardening, or anything else that makes you happy. Just do it.
    .
  2. Travel – Visit a new city or explore YOUR city. Find a place that you haven’t been and just be spontaneous! I have had a bit of work travel so that has been a welcomed change of pace here and there. Try a new restaurant that has been on your list for while or drive away for a weekend getaway!
    .
  3. Try Something New – Go take a class. I have been wanting to take dance classes again but haven’t been able to find a way to squeeze it into my schedule. I  need to work on that. You can also try cooking classes, pottery classes, a fitness group class, or learn a new skill like calligraphy. 🙂
    .
  4. Connect with Friends – Send a note to a friend that lives away fro you via snail mail.  There is something about old school mail that shows you took the time to stop and think about them. Another option is to set up dates for brunch/lunch or even just meet for a cup of coffee. (This is one of my favorite things to do)
    .
  5. Read a Book – Seems so cliche, and not everyone is into books, but read something that is not on a screen. I recently indulged in a few magazines at the airport and I forgot how much I loved them It’s perfect for new inspiration and ideas.

These last few weeks have helped to re-balance the day-to-day and reinvigorate my love for this blog. I hope that you like some of the new content that is coming your way.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot to tell you about this look. For this outfit, I wore a 3/4 sleeve sweater and a tailored straight leg pant. The soft knit sweater fabric is great for travel and the working girl who’s on-the-go since it doesn’t wrinkle. The ballet cut neck line is a great take on a classic silhouette and the sweater has slits cut on each side of the sweater where it hits at the hip line. I am wearing a size XS and it is a perfect fit!

I love the denim blue shade on the pant. The modern crop cut is a great add to any wardrobe and I am happy with the overall fit. The bottom of the leg is cut straight but with the room of a boot cut instead of a skinny leg cut. It will definitely pair with a fun pair of heels or with flats like I have here.
